I think it’s great that some writers offer some content paid, but I decided to go in the direction you are taking a couple months ago, after way too much time (spend and thought) trying to squeeze 30 bucks a year out of folks and locking and unlocking bits of the archive when I’d link to an older post and realize only the 4 paid people could access it.

So cheers to explaining your 2024 plans and process! I did have a question -- you mention that longer-form pieces are subscriber only. How do you do that? Can’t anyone who finds you just go to the article/page and read it? Will certain pieces only arrive via email? I ask as I didn’t know that was an option. I clearly don’t utilize the interface fully.

Hi Steve :) Thanks for reading, first of all. Appreciate the time. :)

As for the content gating via free subscription, I believe it works the same way the paywall does—previews will hit inboxes via email but you'll need to sub to the newsletter to read the entire piece. It's something I'll pilot in the first 3-6 months of 2024, not set on going one way or another 100%. I just don't believe in putting folks out extra money to complete the same action.
