SUPERUNKNOWN remains my favorite record of all time. Front-to-back brilliant.

Also, always found the Stone Temple Pilots being criticized as Pearl Jam copyists to be lazy and unfair. I’m a big PJ fan and those two bands never sounded alike to me. CORE is still a really strong hard rock record.

100% on both comments. Superunknown gets better every time I hear it. RIP CC <3

My favorite of all the bands of that era was always The Screaming Trees. However, as good as they were, when Mark branched off and started to write and record his solo records, his light as an artist shone far more brightly than the Trees ever could or did. There are at least eight Lanegan solo records that are absolutely breathtaking, bruising, haunting, and emotionally devastating, yet at the same time, deeply beautiful records. Without a doubt, they are some of my favorite records I own.

You should. I cannot recommend Lanegan's solo work highly enough.
