A couple of decades ago I began accepting that pop music contains stuff that is worth listening to. That was when I finally decided that there was a place for a Greatest Hits by the greats from Sweden in my collection. My favorite track, though, is a rock: "Does Your Mother Know?" Also, I strongly recommend visiting their museum in Stockholm.
The funny thing is, on the video you linked, you see the "bloke's with the beers" jumping up and down and singing "gimme gimme gimme a MAN after midnight" to a predominantly gay disco anthem. There's hope yet 😃 !
I’d honestly begun to associate the track with the Madonna song because of the sample and had forgotten altogether that it was originally from Gimme Gimme Gimme!
Thanks for reading and commenting, Marco. :) Great music tends to live on, even if people don’t realize the original source of the sample/cover. Gotta give the everlasting pop tracks their flowers.

Thanks for sharing! Their museum is definitely on my personal bucket list — one day :)
Their museum in Stockholm was a blast!
I really have to go ASAP
I’ll be there next month, with my wife this time, and looking forward to it!
Enjoy

Wow, I’d forgotten about this song! So much so that when I heard it I immediately thought of Madonna’s Hung Up.
Also a great track :D

Apparently it took a handwritten note to Benny and Bjorn to get the sample cleared. They’re notoriously hard to get permission from in that respect.
This is one of my favorite ABBA songs. It's so well produced! I also like Cher's version (which is very similar) from a few years ago!
Thanks Dan :) I also enjoy Cher’s version of this track. A fun cover.
Great piece. Always good to see the original works being honored, in times when people are more familiar with the samples and covers.

Thanks for reading and commenting Jeff :) Always a pleasure to bring those good vibes on a Friday (or any day, frankly)
