Timeless music - religiously bought everything when it came out after being, well, blown head over heels by Head Over Heels! I went through a period of not listening to them (let’s call them the dancing years) but there’s probably not a week goes by when I don’t listen to one album or another of theirs now. Great to see their influence on so much.

Huge Cocteau Twins fan! I listened to Heaven or Las Vegas obsessively when it came out. I had the CD box set collection (until I was in college and needed to eat and pay rent lol).

I picked up a reissue of Blue Bell Knoll on vinyl a few months ago, going to have to check to see if the record store has Heaven or Las Vegas on vinyl.

I especially liked your point about abstraction leading us to truth. Heaven or Las Vegas really does feel timeless, and your breakdown means I have another musical addition to my playlist.

I am a high school teacher, and I can confirm that an entirely new generation of music lovers has discovered them. Over the past ten or so years, with the renewed interest in shoegaze and dreampop, I have had countless conversations with students about the CTs.
