Your Picks for the 2025 Discography Rankings, Revealed
The results from the second-most important vote of the year are in. Here's who you picked ...
Today’s post isn’t a playlist, album review, or long-form essay. Instead, it’s all about the artists you want to see more of in this newsletter.
Earlier this year, I asked readers to vote for which studio discographies (i.e., excluding live and compilation records) I should rank next in 2025. The theme of the shortlist I provided to voters was Women in Music. Those finalists included some of the biggest names in pop, rock, country, hip-hop, and electronic music. But, sadly, they couldn’t all be winners.
Before I announce the artists who you determined worthy of discography rankings, a reminder to check out existing content from this series:

A great list to explore! If you want some inside scoop on Mariah Carey, you should reach out to Andres of The Vinyl Room, as he's an expert. I'm looking forward to what you have to say about Madonna, particularly, but curious about all of them.
Interesting mix! Björk and Aretha are the ones that interest me most. You may find my career-spanning appreciation of Aretha’s discography of interest. I put it together after she died. http://anearful.blogspot.com/2018/09/aretha-anew.html
